Textbook Trust |
| Textbooks should be 100%
trustworthy. Textbooks should be 100% accurate. Many are not.
Millions of students, teachers, parents, academics, administrators, and
taxpayers are disserved by these avoidable systematic faults.
Textbook publishers should embrace warranties on accuracy. Textbook adopters and buyers should demand such quality control. Other industries have product recalls. In the realm of academics textbook publishing has a duty not to misinform millions of students nationwide and to make the work of teachers harder. Failure to correct errors, contradictions, and gross omissions calls into question the entire contents of a textbook. We urge a race to the top. |
